    Good day

I’m an entrepreneur with interests in the agriculture and real estate sectors.

As a means of protecting my wealth I’m considering transferring my shareholdings into a trust.

I’m aware that there may be CGT implications on this.

I would like to known how to go about establishing at trust as well as the costs involved in this process.

      Good day

Trust are registered at the Master of the High Court Offices. If you doing it yourself, then the the Master’s Office costs is minimum, about R 100 – 00. You would have to draft a Trust Deed and register it with them. There are a few forms to fill in and documents to attach. If you pay someone to do it for you, it could range from about R 3000 – 00 to R 10 000 – 00 depending on how complicated or detailed the Trust Deed is.
